Derrick Emanuel

About a year ago, Derrick Emmanuel’s love for gardening was revived after a group of volunteers read the Home’s residents, the Bible story of Joseph’s Coat of Many Colours.

The residents listened with great interest and were further intrigued after being told that a variety of garden plants was called Joseph Coat.
On their next visit, the volunteers brought pots, compost, cuttings and garden tools, so each resident could be involved in the planting activity.

It was Derrick whose gardening skills blossomed greatest as he daily tended his potted garden.

Today, he is known at the Home for his plants as well as for his hearty laughter. His dream is to become a professional gardener.
